Rain makes for a long day spent inside playing lots of card games.

Woke up and went for breakfast at 8. We had bread and jelly and realized the potatoes we had in the morning the day before we a luxury. I went up the farm today with half of the group from the orphanage. The ride was about 30 of the bumpiest minutes in my life. The road was extremely steep and there were lots of potholes. I was impressed that the car actually made it to the top.

When we made it up I was greeted with a stunning view of the mountains. It was overcast and drizzling so the weather felt nice while we were working. Our job was to pick the rocks out of the already turned soil and we also cleared another field. Since the farm is on a hill they use terrace farming.

For lunch we enjoyed Dal Bhat and potatoes, which was beginning to become a common theme for meals. During our down time I walked to a natural pool with a few people and sat there for a little bit until the drizzles turned into rain.

We were supposed to go back to work, but it started pouring and the soil would be too muddy. Instead we were stuck inside and entertained ourselves with lots of card games. Around 4 we were treated with Nepalese Ramen Noodles and black tea.

The rain didn't slow so we were trapped for a few more hours and played some more card games. When it finally stopped raining the group staying at the orphanage walked down to a local village to be picked up by the car and taken back.

For dinner we had more Dal Bhat and potatoes. Despite having the same food every meal, it never failed to be delicious. We learned some new dances from the kids and then went out for ice cream when they went to bed. I got a chocolate milk shake, which I had been craving, and it was just what I needed.

Amazing that you are able to find ice cream and milkshakes in that little town. I assume you have not had problems getting or safely drinking enough water? You haven't posted about any problems with that and it's been really hot, so I assume it hasn't been a problem.

I'm really enjoying reading and learning about all you have been doing! I can't wait to hear more about the other people in your group as well as you teaching me some new card game and new dances! :)
