Successfully made it back to Kathmandu and took a much needed shower after going without one for 11 days.

We started the day early with coconut crapes with chocolate. Then headed over to the airport in hopes of flying back to Kathmandu today. The sky was pretty clear so our chances seemed pretty good. We only sat at the airport for an hour before we were shuttled off to our plane.

We quickly boarded and headed back. The take off was crazy as we were in the air then immediately over a cliff. This is why Lukla is the most dangerous airport in the world and why the visibility is so important.

After a short 30 minutes we landed and headed back to the hotel. I was so excited to be back in the city and take a shower, as I hadn't taken one since the night before we left. I was lucky enough to get a single room and I quickly threw off my dirty clothes and hopped in the shower. After a long time removing all the dirt from the hike I changed into clean clothes.

On the trek we only brought the essentials and left the rest here so I was grateful to be reunited with my clean clothes. I threw all my clothes from the trek into a packing cube and stuffed it in the bottom of the bag to wash when I got back home.

I then went downstairs to meet my friends to go shopping. I almost didn't recognize them all clean and shiny and in normal clothes. We walked around Kathmandu and did some window shopping. I got some ideas on what souvenirs I should bring home.

I then headed back over to the Momo hut and was excited to have chicken momos and a coke. We then headed over to a bakery where I got a donut and cake.

Back at the hotel I relaxed an finished my book which I returned to Katy. Then with the help of Ceri and Sammy I filled in my map which I kept track of distance, time and elevation throughout each days hike.

Dinner was a new reataurant called OR2K which was a good change. The food was delicious and my bowl filled with greens was delicious. We spent a while talking at the restaurant and then headed back to our rooms for an early night.

What is the green cake? I'd guess pistachio, but maybe it's some other Nepali local flavor. Looks good!
