Nice relaxing day spent getting any last minute items necessary and packing up for the trek to Everest Base Camp.

The crazy bus ride yesterday led to a late breakfast at 9 am. When I saw the potato wedges, bacon, eggs, and beans I got very excited for something other than bread and jelly. After I gobbled down my food we had a briefing from our guide for the trek. He told us what we need to bring and explained the signs of altitude sickness.

We then set out as a group to go to get Diamox, which is supposed to help prevent altitude sickness. Next stop was a supermarket where I bought dried fruit, nuts, some packets of Nepalese Ramen Noodles (which I can eat dry and have 10 grams of protein), juice boxes, and dark chocolate.

On the trek we have three meals a day provided, but you are not supposed to eat the meat bc there is no refrigeration so we have to bring food to get some protein. I also wanted some snacks to eat while I am hiking.

I then bought a warm hat and gloves and went back to the room. I worked for a while on my blog posts. I had typed up what I was planning on saying into a word document for a couple of the days, so that helped a lot. On the trek I am bringing a journal to write every day and will type it up in the airport and at home. My laptop is heavy and I don't want it to get ruined or stolen, so I am leaving it locked up in a room in the hotel.

I took a quick break when writing to grab lunch which was pizza and tomato soup. It was so delicious and nice to have some pizza before eating the same food every day on the trek. I then went back up to my room and wrote until I finished all my posts.

I started packing up everything and went out to buy a few more things I needed before dinner. I got a map of our route, a sharpie to write on it, hand sanitizer, and a Nepalese journal to write about my trek.

We headed back over to the Momo Hut for the last dinner before the hike. We had chicken sizzler which was a nice last meal, with lots of protein. A few of us then went to get a milkshake and brought it to our group meeting on the balcony. We went around the circle and said our high, low, and what the heck moment from the trip so far.

I headed back to the room finished up any last minute packing and took what may be my last shower for two weeks and headed to bed early. Tomorrow morning we have to be out the door at 4:30.
