What was supposed to be a six hour bus ride turned into twelve hours of hot, bumpy traffic.

We said goodbye to the kids this morning over tea, bread, peanut butter, jelly, and an egg. It was hard to leave them and they chased our bus as we drove away around 7:30. I quickly fell back asleep and didn't wake up until we stopped for a quick lunch around 12.

I had chow mein, which was a good mix up from the usual Dal Bhat and potatoes. We hopped back on the bus and I fell asleep for another two hours. I woke up around 2 expecting to be pretty close to the hotel. The bus was stopped, so I figured we must be there. However I was very wrong, we were simply stopped in traffic.

The next few hours we hot and bumpy and we all were slowly getting irritated. As each hour passed, I got more car sick and more annoyed. I played some solitaire on my phone to pass the time and slept, but it was not enough to distract me from how sick and hungry I was.

When we finally stopped I was so grateful to get out of that bus, and my stomach felt much better as well. We were a quick walk from the hotel and all dropped our stuff in our rooms. I desperately needed food after that 12 hour bus ride and we all went to the Momo Hut for a late dinner.

After the same meal for a week momos tasted delicious and the room went silent when the food was brought out. We all went straight back to our rooms and I caught up on a few posts before heading to bed.

What amazing pictures and narrative. You are doing a wonderful job sharing your adventure with us. Much love and thanks. I think Leslie went skydiving for her 40th birthday or maybe it was her 30th.

Sorry the bus ride was so hot and bumpy. That's really a lot of extra time to travel just due to travel. It doubled your expected time. Maybe there was an accident? Anyway, you made it back safe and starving and are now clean and fed and rested as well. It was good you could sleep on the bus!
